Mike Millard -- Sailing photos from Poole Harbour
Mike has raced a wide range of dinghies and keelboats over the last fifty-something years, starting at Lyme Regis when he was 11 years old, crewing in Fireflies and then Albacores before moving into trapeze dinghies including 505s and Fireballs.
He moved to Poole in 1966 and continued crewing, becoming a member of both Parkstone and Poole Yacht Clubs. There he raced in a variety of dinghies before crewing in Flying Fifteens, J24s, R19s and larger keelboats.
Mike has owned several dinghies, Drascombes and a RIB in the past and now sails a Seal 22 from Poole Yacht Club.
His active role in racing has been interrupted due to heart surgery in February 2005, but he contiues to enjoy spending as much time as possible pottering around on the water. During this time Mike has developed a keen interest in digital photography, and can often be found keeping a close eye on racing in and around Poole Harbour through the lens.
